The Kalamazoo site originally had been used as an alum plant. The site was previously a Cytec facility until 2015 when Solvay acquired the property. Kalamazoo is part of the Solvay Composite Materials global business unit. The main product is KM polymers, key toughening elements in resin systems used by the aerospace industry to produce composite components, which are being utilized increasingly in the commercial and military aviation sectors.
